It is very sad but true that smoking statistics, particularly for adolescents, get worse and worse each year. Although scientists and doctors are able to track more and more of the harmful effects of smoking and can accurately tell what damage is being done to the human body and the environment, more and more people are still taking up the habit. Despite all the knowledge we have available to us and the research that is being carried out, young people are continuing to start smoking with each generation, and unfortunately, are also suffering the consequences of that smoking, including increased cases of asthma, heart disease, and cancer.
