Tinnitus is a disorder that can be perceived in either just one ear or both. Sometimes, patients report that they hear the buzzing in their head. The most common description for the sound is a ringing noise, but others also report sounds like high pitch whining or like bees buzzing. Sometimes they say that it sounds like humming or hissing, or a slight whistling sound. Others describe their experience as a clicking or ticking sound or sounds that are similar to what insects like locusts, flies or crickets emit.
